Robots in Disguise are fronted by Dee Plume (guitar and vocals) and Sue Denim (bass and vocals). This maverick electro-indie-rock-dance duo has a reputation for fashion-forward style and energetic shows where Dee’s guitar and Sue’s grooving bass lines dance over chunky electronic beats and tell-it-like-it-is lyrics.
Snapped up by French label, Recall, Robots in Disguise released their eponymous debut album in 2004, creating a real buzz throughout Europe. After a US release and tour in 2005, Robots in Disguise released Get Rid!, their sharp, snazzy electrofunk album on Recall in France. Their standout single, DJ’s Got A Gun, enjoyed heavy rotation across Europe and the States. Get Rid! was taken up by President Records in the UK in ‘06, with its single, TURN IT UP, featured on US hit show, Ugly Betty.
The Robots in Disguise then released their 3rd album, We’re In The Music Biz, produced by Chris Corner (Sneaker Pimps/ I Am X) in Berlin.
